Drum Lessons in Milton Keynes

Build confidence, timing and real playing ability.

One-to-one drum lessons for beginners to advanced players, taught in a structured weekly format.

A teaching approach built on world-class foundations

My teaching methods are heavily influenced by the styles I’ve learned from my own teachers — especially Bob Armstrong, who is widely regarded as one of the great master educators. The way I teach technique, control, and musicianship comes directly from those foundations — so students build real skill that lasts, not just “copying beats”.

What Makes Lessons at the Milton Keynes Drum Academy Different

These aren't drop in lessons.

These lessons are built on world class tuition and structured as weekly sessions designed to build real timing, coordination and confidence over time.

Who lessons are for

The Milton Keynes Drum Academy welcomes students of all ages and abilities:

  • Kids: fun, structured lessons that build coordination and confidence
  • Teens: goal-driven coaching (songs, bands, exams, performance)
  • Adults: supportive, no-ego lessons — whether you’re brand new or returning after years away
  • Advanced players: targeted improvement on weak areas and performance-level polish

Practice & Progress Expectations

To get the best results from lessons, students are encouraged to attend regularly and engage with practice between sessions. Drumming is a skill that develops through consistency, and steady weekly lessons make a noticeable difference to confidence, coordination, and overall progress.

Lessons are designed as an ongoing process, rather than occasional sessions, allowing students to build a strong foundation while still enjoying the experience.

Practice Tasks & Lesson Follow-Up

At the end of each lesson, clear practice tasks are set to work on before the next session. These are shared via WhatsApp, so students have a clear and practical reference to refer back to.

Students are welcome to record themselves practising and send one short video or audio clip per week for feedback and guidance. This is intended to support steady progress between lessons; additional feedback beyond this would need to be arranged separately.

Getting Started

If you’re thinking about starting drum lessons — whether for yourself or your child — the best place to begin is with an introductory session.

This gives you the chance to:

  • Try the kit
  • See how the lessons work
  • Get a feel for the teaching style
  • Ask any questions

From there, if it’s a good fit, we move into a regular weekly slot so progress can build properly over time.
